Fresh Eyes - New Landscapes of the Moreton Bay Region

Fresh Eyes

The Moreton Bay Region features a diverse range of natural landscapes, from sub-tropical rainforests, wetlands, bushland and beaches. It is also home to everyday landscapes including backyards, basketball courts and carparks. Over the past 20 years, driven by the increase in population, the region has undergone significant changes. From these changes, new landscapes have emerged. The Bruce Highway has widened, farmland has given way to new suburbs, and new recreational areas have been developed. As such there are now more environments for people to form spiritual and social connections to.

In Fresh Eyes, artists are asked to share landscapes from the Moreton Bay Region that are special to them. Natural and industrial landscapes will share the gallery with scenes of everyday surroundings. This exhibition aims to explore what draws artists to depict certain landscapes and what connection they hold to them
