Get your sketch game on with a series of facilitated life drawing classes celebrating sci-fi and fantasy figures.

Delivered over four sessions at Caboolture Hub, these three-hour classes are suitable for adults and teenagers, beginners and advanced. No prior artistic skills or knowledge is required to join the class. Book into individual sessions for a taste or come along to the whole series to really develop your skills.

Under the guidance of a facilitator, you will engage in the energetic practise of life drawing with a live model inspired by sci-fi and fantasy, striking poses for you to sketch.

This workshop series will help you:

  • Gain knowledge of drawing technique
  • Increase your confidence in your artistic abilities
  • Create an original artwork

What to bring:

  • Feel free to bring your own kit if you prefer working with your personal tools
  • If you wish to use other mediums apart from that provided, you are welcome to bring your chosen medium on the day.

Saturday 7 November | 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Facilitator: Rachel Apelt

Rachel Apelt studied painting at Queensland College of Art and taught life drawing there and at QUT for several years. For the past 7 years she has been running life drawing at Bunya House in Arana Hills, and also offers a mix of costumed life drawing and outdoor drawing events that can be enjoyed by families. She regularly exhibits her work and seeks to activate creative connections in her community.

Thursday 12 and Thursday 26 November | 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Facilitator: Meredith MacLeod

Meredith Macleod is a Brisbane based artist specialising in intaglio printmaking, drawing and artist books. As well as her own practice Meredith is currently the Visual Art Specialist at Milton State School. Meredith is the facilitator for Double M for Art, a community based education program that provides art tuition for children and adults.

Saturday 21 November | 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Facilitator: Mel Brady

Moreton Bay local Mel Brady fills her world with vintage clothes and paintings of vintage clothes, fixating partly on the silhouettes and patterns of the 70s. Living in the Moreton region for the last 13 years, Mel has been a regular facilitator for Caboolture Regional Art Gallery engaging in craft and art experiences including life drawing for the 2018 Adorn exhibition.

This workshop is for ages 15+ and all levels of experience are welcome to participate. Limited to 12 participants per session.
