Joy Connection Family Fun Day

Come together for a day of family fun as the Joy Connection program wraps up in a feast of interactive workshops, joyful live music and an inspiring panel discussion.

All activities are free and open to all ages and all abilities.

9:00 AM – 11:00 AM | Sacred Geometry Chalk Drawing with The Art of String Theory

10:00 AM - 10:30 AM | Storytime in the library

10:00 AM - 11:30 AM | Sing for Joy workshop

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM - Stick Together workshop with Mel Brady

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Now is the Time GOMA Kids on Tour

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Hub Gallery exhibition opening – Ancient. Timeless. Enduring.

11:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Artist guided tour of Caboolture Regional Gallery exhibitions with Janice Peacock

11:30 AM – 1:30 PM | Young Mic - live music by and for young people

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM | Moreton Bay Big Band will share their songs and sound

3:30 PM – 5:00 PM | Arts, Culture and Wellbeing panel discussion: Join author/illustrator Meredith Gaston, community dance expert Neriah Waters and Bribie musicians Bill Plant and Trisha Scott for a lively discussion on the transformative impact of visual art, singing, instrumental music, theatre and dance in local communities.

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Exhibitions at Caboolture Regional Gallery

Manggan – gather, gathers, gathering

Shares knowledge through the recent works of 19 Indigenous artists from Girringun Aboriginal Art Centre alongside collection objects from the South Australian Museum.

First

With a focus on First Nations artists living in or from Queensland, this exhibition features works from the Moreton Bay Regional Council Art Collection and examines ideas surrounding sovereignty, the continuing impacts of colonisation and connections to place.

The Summer Family Fun Day is delivered as part of a partnership between Moreton Bay Regional Council and Creative Arts Alliance.

Creative Arts Alliance is proudly part of the Regional Arts Services Network (RASN) funded by Arts Queensland.
