Galleries and museums will be closed on Thursday 25 April for the Anzac Day public holiday and will reopen on Friday 26 April from 10:00 AM.
The Art of Sound is a new collaborative project between the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) and selected regional art galleries, which examines the intersections between sound and the visual arts. It was inspired by the NFSA’s mandate to share its audio-visual collection with the people of Australia through touring projects, film festivals, screenings and exhibitions.
We hope that visitors to the gallery will enjoy the multi-sensory experience and consider what the sounds and chosen artworks mean to them, and perhaps even what alternative artworks or sounds they might have chosen instead!
The Art of Sound is supported by the National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach Program, an Australian Government program aiming to improve access to the national collections for all Australians.
