It’s holiday time and Bribie Island is the place to go: sun, sand, fresh air and a relaxed pace. Bribie has long been a popular holiday destination, but what is it that makes Bribie so special?
In the early years, the journey to Bribie was part of the adventure. People jumped onboard the excursion boats with their camping gear, fishing rods and picnic sets in hand. On arrival, accommodation choices ranged from pitching a tent to staying at guest houses and, later, motels. As the years progressed the journey changed, but not people’s love affair with Bribie. Going Away tells the story of holidays spent at Bribie.
