When an event occurs you need to be able to act quickly on any advice provided.

Your first priority must be the safety of yourself and others.

Actions you may be required to take include:

• Activate your emergency plan
• Locate your emergency kit
• Continue to monitor the situation and listen for further advice
• Position sandbags to minimise water inundation and prevent sewerage back flow
• Know where to seek additional assistance, if required
• Shelter in place
• Confirm arrangements for and prepare your pets and livestock
• Evacuate your family, see road conditions report and evacuation centres

Register online with the National Registration and Inquiry System (NRIS)  to ensure family and friends can find you and know you are safe.
