The Redcliffe City Art Gallery is the culmination of the dreams, hopes and work of many people.
Since the inception of the Redcliffe Art Contest in 1957 artists and art lovers have looked for a permanent home.
In fact, the Redcliffe City Art Collection has been the catalyst in developing the Gallery.
By presenting a varied annual program of local and touring exhibitions, the Art Gallery will offer its visitors a unique cultural perspective of the Peninsula and Moreton Bay region.
A public art gallery has the potential to involve many sectors of the community in exciting and innovative programs. Galleries can demonstrate a cohesive community function by stimulating interest in local arts and crafts. They can act as catalysts for the local arts industry. They can educate. They can excite or, equally as important, they can be a place of peace and meditation.
The Redcliffe City Library has traditionally been a meeting place for the community and now with the Art Gallery as a partner, we hope the tradition will continue.
