Pine Rivers Family Day Care

Pine Rivers Family Day Care is a community based high quality childcare service that offers care and education for children 8 weeks to high school.

This care is in the homes of approved care providers that are supported and monitored by a coordination unit that is employed by the Moreton Bay Regional Council. Moreton Bay Regional Council sponsors Pine Rivers Family Day Care on a non profit basis.

Background

Pine Rivers Family Day Care commenced as a service of Pine Rivers Shire Council in July 1976. It was set up in response to a need for parents to have alternative options for childcare.

Since that time Pine Rivers Family Day Care has grown into a large and a well respected scheme and with the introduction of Quality Assurance in 2002 by the National Childcare Accreditation Council (link opens in new window) (NCAC) allowed the service to further define the operations and to reflect the growing professionalism of the home based service.

The scheme has achieved a high quality result in Quality Assurance every time since 2002 and has been accredited as a high quality service in all six quality areas.

While the level of professional service has changed dramatically over the years of operation, the vision and purpose of the service has continued to be based on a firm commitment to providing a service which meets the needs of children and which works in partnership with their families.
