Road safety program
Moreton Bay Regional Council is committed to making improvements to road safety in the region for both residents and visitors.
As part of our commitment to road safety, in consultation with stakeholders and the community, Council has developed a draft five year and a draft yearly Action Plan.
Strategic plan
The Strategic Plan incorporates the Safe System Framework of:
- Safe roads and roadsides
- Safe road users
- Safe speeds
- Safe vehicles
The plan will target a number of strategic priority areas that include:
- Strategic co-ordination and communication
- Land Use, Transport Planning and Management
- Safe roads
- Safe road users
- Safe speeds
- Safe vehicles
- Community ownership
Council employs a Road Safety Officer to develop and implement public education programs to highlight road safety issues in the region, however, every area of Council has a responsibility to contribute to improving road safety.
