About this event

Local Buy and Moreton Bay Regional Council have proudly partnered together for a Lunch and Learn forum, designed to educate businesses in the Moreton Bay region about the avenues available to them when tendering for work with local government across Queensland.

Moreton Bay Regional Council is committed to supporting the growth and development of local businesses and growing our region’s economy by delivering on the Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS).

Local Buy’s purpose is to make it easy for local government across Queensland to connect to suppliers. This is achieved by bridging the legislative requirements which have previously sometimes made it challenging for small businesses to work with local government and other big buyers. Local Buy’s strict prequalified supplier process effectively means that Government can access a range of goods and services through a quotation process rather than a traditional tender process.

Local Buy pride themselves on being the first and only organisation to open tenders through Active Arrangements, which open quarterly throughout each year. The first Active Arrangement to be opened for 2023 is during February 2023, and this session will provide everything you need to know to become pre-qualified and to utilise Local Buy as an avenue to gain more opportunities to win work with local governments.

Event attendees can expect to hear about:

• Avenues to connect with local government

• Local Buy’s prequalified supplier process - Active Arrangements

• How to submit your Local Buy tender

• A case study from a current Local Buy supplier
