Home / Living / Property ownership
Caboolture district
It is the responsibility of owners of vacant land to keep their properties free of long grass and weeds, which could harbour vermin.
An allotment is considered to be overgrown where the grass (or vegetation) is long and thick enough for rats, mice and other vermin to live and breed. Snakes are not classified as vermin.
If no action is taken to clear an overgrown property, Council will carry out the work and charge the landowner.
