Dog registration fees

Dog registrations apply from the 1 July to 30 June each year.

Please note: with the exception of the Application fee for an excess animal permit - the fee for new dog registrations will be charged on a pro rata basis.

Renewal of dog registration

If a payment for a dog registration renewal is received after the due date shown on the dog registration notice a late payment fee will be charged.

To claim the desexed and/or concession dog registration renewal rate, you must provide proof of desexing or eligibility for the concession at the time of registration or before the following years dog renewal notice is issued.

Animal registration concession

The concession rate for dog registration and registration renewal will apply where the dog owner provides proof of:

  • Pensioners with Centrelink/Veteran Affairs card
  • Approved dog obedience trained dogs where the relevant form has been completed
  • Dogs on rural zoned land

Special needs dogs

Special needs dogs need to be registered with Council, however a registration fee does not apply. A special needs dogs are as follows:

  • Dogs for the disabled
    (trained to assist blind, hearing impaired or physically disabled)
  • Police dogs
  • RAAF training program dogs
  • Dogs in the puppy carers program (temporary placements)

If you wish to register a special needs dog you will need to provide a certificate from an accredited association.
