Climate change
The scientific consensus is that climate change is real, it is affecting society now and if left unchecked will cause immense socio-economic and environmental impact (Garnaut 2008). Climate is very relevant to Moreton Bay Regional Council.
In 2009, Council commissioned a study to identify high level climate change risk.
The Scoping Climate Change Risk for the Moreton Bay Regional Council report 
[PDF 2.5MB] highlighted the need for Council to coordinate its actions for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Council
has since adopted a climate change policy [PDF 35KB] and and a climate change road map [PDF 1MB].
Council is currently developing a climate change strategy.
