Sweeney Reserve Master Plan
A draft master plan for reinstatement of flood damaged facilities in Sweeney Reserve has been completed.
The plan has been developed to ensure the park's long-term sustainability as a district park and to ensure replacement facilities are flood resilient.
The first stage of new facilities are being constructed in a flood free area closer to the entry of the park and are intended to meet a broad range of community needs, abilities and age groups.
A new dog off leash area is to be constructed as part of the first stage of works along with new toilet facilities and improved parking.
Future park development
Ongoing redevelopment of the park will take place progressively in future years, as funds become available. Park features proposed to be delivered in future stages may include:
- Picnic facilities
- Play facilities
- Heritage interpretation signage
- New parking and pathways
- Revegetation works
