The region provides a multitude of opportunities for members of the community to enjoy sporting facilities of very high standard. The facilities are spread throughout the region enabling residents and visitors to have easy access to a wide variety of sporting activities.
The region's sports grounds cater for a myriad of sports, including rugby union, rugby league, Australian rules football, softball, cricket, netball, baseball, soccer, hockey and equestrian pursuits. If you prefer indoor sports, there are many well-equipped indoor sports centres that cater for a wide range of sporting and leisure activities such as netball, volleyball, soccer and cricket.
At times, Council's sports facilities may be closed for use due to adverse weather conditions, routine maintenance or major renovation works. Whilst every care is taken to ensure timely and accurate information, please exercise discretion before using any activity area. Clubs operating under lease/license conditions over playing fields must determine the suitability of all surfaces to ensure the safety of participants and longevity of the playing surface.
