Sort & separate your waste
Waste minimisation is an important part of Council's waste management strategy to reduce waste going to landfill.
Thousands of tonnes of disposed material is recycled, recovered and reused every year with the assistance of all visitors who sort their loads.
Cover your load
Littering from a vehicle is a fineable
offence. It is everyone's responsibility to properly secure and/or cover
their loads of waste and recyclables being transported.
You must also ensure litter does not escape from your secured load when driving to and from the facility. Local Laws are in place with regards to littering being an offence and fines can be imposed by legal authorities, see littering in Queensland.
Wear enclosed footwear & protection gear
For the safety of all people visiting the waste facilities, please ensure enclosed footwear is worn at all times.
Waste facilities are classed as worksites
and it is important that all people using the facility use the
appropriate footwear and gloves, including protective hat, clothing,
mask and eyewear for the task.
