Other considerations
Serving alcohol
A General Purpose Permit must be obtained from the Liquor Licensing Division of Queensland in order to sell liquor at a public event. The Liquor Licensing Division
website provides more information and a planning guide (in the public events planning section).
Fireworks displays
The use of fireworks is regulated under the Explosives Act 1999 and Explosives Regulation 2003. Only people who hold a Queensland fireworks operator's licence are permitted to use fireworks. The Department of Mines & Energy
website provides more information (in the safe use of fireworks section).
Food / drink licences & permits
All food or drink outlets at an event are required to conform to the requirements of the Food Standards Code, which is available from the Food Standards
website. Each outlet must also be licensed and registered by Moreton Bay Regional Council.
Road closures
Closing roads for the purpose of holding an event requires permits from Queensland Police, Council & Department of Main Roads (where applicable). See temporary road closures for more information.
