Performing arts & festivals

Each year Council hosts major festivals that bring together traditional and contemporary cultures through music and performance. Our annual QUT Urban Country Music Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and The Dreaming Festival attract audiences from around Australia.

In between these events, there are plenty of opportunities for residents to enjoy musical treats. From local rock bands, to community choral and orchestral performances, to celebrations of Indigenous culture and heritage, Moreton Bay Regional Council resounds with the universal language of music.

QUT urban country music festival

This world-famous country music festival, held each year over the May long weekend, offers 4 days of non-stop fun and entertainment. Enjoy performances by the cream of Australia’s country music industry. Abbey medieval festival

Held in July each year, the festival has become the largest and most authentic medieval event in Australia. Breath-taking pageanty of the Joust with armoured knights on their warhorses competing for the favours of beautiful ladies, a masque ball, banquet and grand parade. Dreaming festival   

Held in Woodford in June, the annual Dreaming Festival presents a three-day feast of Indigenous performance from around Australia, featuring comedy, music, visual art, dance, theatre, new media, film and discussion panels.  Visit the Dreaming Festival, Woodford website (link opens in new window).

Queensland music festival 

Caboolture is proud to host a Queensland Music Festival production every two years. Opera Queensland

KSP Community Theatre Company 

Now based on the corner of Old Bay Road and Maitland Drive, Burpengary, KSP are Caboolture's own amateur theatre company.
