Pine Rivers district
Local economic development is the process in which Pine Rivers engages to stimulate and maintain business activity and employment in its Local Government Area. This is reflected in the formation of new businesses, the development of alternative industries, the improvement of the capacity of existing businesses to produce better products and services, the identification of new markets, the transfer of knowledge and the nurturing of new firms and enterprises.
Council is taking an active role in ensuring that our local businesses continue to develop and strengthen their share of market opportunities. The Business Facilitation Department provides preliminary advice and support to those businesses wishing to establish or relocate to Pine Rivers. Pine Rivers is 20 kms from the Brisbane CBD with a thriving business sector. The district has business precincts at Strathpine, Brendale, North Lakes, Lawnton, Kallangur, Petrie, Albany Creek, Arana Hills and Everton Hills and boasts a wide range of retail, manufacturing and service industries. State and Federal Government agencies have branch offices providing direct service links to the community. There is enormous potential for commercial and employment growth within Pine Rivers as the district has a highly skilled work force.
Brendale industrial estate is situated adjacent to the Strathpine Central Business District and on the northern boundary with Brisbane. It offers affordable business premises with easy access to freight and transport corridors with on-the-doorstep access to the Bruce Highway, the Gateway Arterial Road, other major roads and passenger and freight rail services. Redcliffe Economic Development Business Unit
The primary role of the Economic Development Business Unit is to support local businesses and attract investment to the city. The unit takes an active role in providing services to assist the Redcliffe community to improve its economic environment.
- The unit is your first point of contact for business support. Services include:
business advice;
- business and tourism investment information;
- business seminars and training;
- state and federal government programs;
- up-to-date statistics;
- facilitation of research projects;
- implementation of Council business development strategies; and
- facilitation of resources and development of infrastructure to attract and keep businesses in Redcliffe.
